Starting in 1965, the New England Tractor Trailer Training School (NETTTS) first began training truck drivers in Somers, CT. Now, for over 50-years, NETTTS has been a important part of the Somers community and has been providing the greater Hartford and Springfield area residents with Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License training.
The Somers truck driver training school in is located near the Connecticut/Massachusetts border. The benefit of being only 25 miles from Hartford, CT and 15 miles from Springfield, MA, is that this campus is able to train students from both Connecticut and Massachusetts who are interested in getting a CDL license and becoming a professional truck driver.
In addition to the Greater Hartford area and places like New Britain, Bristol and Windsor, Connecticut students typically come to NETTTS in Somers from the towns of New London, Norwich, Putnam, Torrington and Goshen.
Massachusetts residents looking for CDL Class A and B training come from all across central, northern and western Massachusetts as well. Being close to Springfield, MA means it’s a short ride from Chicopee, Holyoke, and Northampton, but also easily accessible from Worcester, Greenfield and Pittsfield, MA.
The facility is made up of classrooms where lessons are taught, as well as a dedicated driving range to practice maneuvering techniques. In addition to safety procedures, you will learn both the technical and operational aspects of the vehicle you are training to drive. Once you have mastered the handling and maneuvering of the tractor trailer, you’ll be prepared to take your commercial driver’s license exam!
