Upgrade Your Drivers to Operate Class A Vehicles

The CDL Class B to Class A Upgrade Program is designed for commercial drivers who currently hold a valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License and want to advance their qualifications to operate combination vehicles requiring a Class A CDL. This training program can help provide the knowledge and hands-on driving skills necessary to safely operate tractor-trailers and other Class A commercial vehicles.

Students will receive classroom instruction covering federal and state regulations, air brake systems, vehicle inspection procedures, cargo securement, trip planning, and safety compliance in accordance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) standards. The program also includes behind-the-wheel training focused on coupling and uncoupling, backing maneuvers, inspection procedures, and highway and city driving.

By the end of the course, students will be prepared for the Class A CDL skills and road test administered by their state’s licensing agency. This upgrade program helps professional drivers operate a wider range of commercial vehicles within the transportation industry.
