Admission Process for Vocational Training at NETTTS

Are you interested in attending a trade school program to prepare for a career change? At New England Tractor Trailer Training School (NETTTS), students can access career training programs at school locations across the New England area. NETTTS offers both commercial driver’s licenses (CDL) and heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVACR) programs to aspiring drivers and technicians. Admissions Requirements

Whether you’re interested in the NETTTS CDL programs or the HVACR program, it’s important to know the admission requirements before applying. For both CDL and HVACR programs, students must:

  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Complete a personal interview with a NETTTS Authorized Representative
  • HVACR candidates must possess a valid high school diploma or its equivalent (GED, HISET, TASC) before starting training
  • A DOT physical is required for CDL students to earn their medical card

For the CDL school requirements, students must also have a valid driver’s license or permit from their home state, which include MA, CT, RI, NH, NY, or ME. Applicants living in RI must also have possessed a valid driver’s license for no less than two years.

For the HVACR school requirements, applicants must take and pass an HVACR entrance exam (receive a minimum score of 80%).

Applicants must also be older than the compulsory attendance age of secondary education in their respective states and cannot be attending another school at the secondary level.

At NETTTS, we offer entry-level CDL training programs for:

  • CDL Class-A: This CDL enables truckers to operate commercial vehicles with a gross combination weight of 26,001 pounds or more or a towed unit with a gross vehicle weight of 10,000 pounds or more.
  • CDL Class-B: This CDL allows drivers to operate commercial vehicles with a gross vehicle weight of 26,001 pounds or more or tow vehicles with less than 10,000 pounds of gross vehicle weight.
